Rag Quilt for Elisa

My gr. niece, Elisa, is turning 5 this month and I made her this rag quilt. It turned out pretty good this time. In a previous post you might have noticed that my dog ended up with the last one. I didn't put it together well enough but this is the learning process. I really enjoy making these and have 2 or 3 more on the list.

Happy Birthday Dea

My friend, Dea, just had a birthday and I made her a special card. She always makes me feel really good about my cards, my stained glass, my little bit of musical knowledge (not so much anymore) and I wanted to wish her a very happy birthday. She sent me a photo of this card framed in her bedroom! She also saves my Christmas cards and puts them under her tree every year. Dea, you are wonderful and I hope all your birthdays are the best and as long as I am still around, I will make my very best efforts on hand-stamped cards just for you. Fondly, Sam

Wednesday Stamper Cards

These are cards and items that we made at our last Wednesday stamping party. We still are missing Carolyn because of her surgery last month but we hope she joins us soon.

Lois taught us how to make this flower - pretty isn't it? Imagine it on a present!

Laura brought us a Christmas card to make. Lots of work on this one.
My card and I gave them a choice of which one they wanted to make.

Lois also brought us this card to make.

Laura is off for the summer so she brought us this beautiful card to make.
Marie brought us this card. I sent it out for a swap right away. The flowers are vellum.

A Quilt for My Baby - Mac

My mentor and friend, Denise, taught me how to make a rag quilt. This is my first one and it had a couple of problems after I got it washed. A few weak seams came apart and made holes that couldn't be fixed. Mac said "that's OK, I like it!" so the quilt is his now. He doesn't seem to mind all the pink. My baby is a sick little "old guy" with kidney problems so he gets anything he wants.

Wednesday Stampers - Cool Cards

These are actually cards from a couple stamp meeting ago. I'm a little behind on editing this blog.

Lois - yes, we've started our Christmas cards

Vickie's card

Me - A borrowed TAC set, so cute.

Vickie - who knows where she gets her ideas but they're great!

Princess Skirt

Yesterday I decided I needed some "fabric therapy" (as Denise calls it) and make a little girl skirt I found on http://weefolkart.com. It's an Eight Panel Princess Skirt and the instructions are very understandable. I feel really proud when I can make something without a pattern.

New Stamper In Our Group

My friend and neighbor, Mariel, has joined our stamping group. This is a card she sent me and it's a small copy of the bigger painting in her office that she painted. We enjoy her contribution to the group and she's a welcomed stamper and good cook (you know, just in case we have a potluck).

Little Girl Skirts

I learned how to make little skirts out of strips of material. No pattern! They were so cute I couldn't stop at just one.

Felt Pincushion

I got this idea from The DIY Dish, Episode 1 www.thediydish.com. They have videos and instructions on how to make various projects. This was a birthday gift for my friend and quilting mentor Denise.

Here Kitty, Kitty and Doggie

Whimsie Doodles had a fundraiser for the S.P.C.A. and offered digital images set of 4 images and 4 sentiments called Paws I Care. My friend, Lois, and I jumped right on them.

Quilted Tiger and Giraffe Placemats

These placemats were shown at my favorite quilting store, Quilter's Bee, Peoria, Arizona. I had to make them for my gr. neice and nephew, Elisa and David. They were fun and I have another set started for my other gr. neice and nephew. Christmas presents maybe.

Personalized Cards for Sandi

I make personalized cards for a friend/neighbor. Sometimes
they are challenging. She gives me a summary about them and
turns me lose. So far, she has always liked what I've done. I have
made a total of 28 cards for her and below are a few of them.

Is It Time to Get Up Now?

Gees, I've been on a really long nap and so I guess I better get busy on this blog. A couple of my friends have been reminding me that there's nothing new on this thing and so I will continue. I have lots to show. Thanks to Denise for lighting the fire and the fact that you care and want to see my works is so nice of you.
